How BuyDNA works
From property listing to clearer buying decision.
BuyDNA sits between finding a property and making an offer. It reads the available evidence, tells you what that evidence supports, and is explicit about what it can't see.
- 01
Find a property
You find a property on a major Australian listing platform, or you already know the address. BuyDNA starts where your search ends — we don't sell you listings.
- 02
BuyDNA it
Paste the listing URL or type the full address. We resolve it to a single property and ask you to confirm if more than one match is possible.
- 03
We build the evidence
BuyDNA gathers what is actually available for that property and its area: property records and sale history, comparable sales, market metrics, government and open datasets, the listing itself, and BuyDNA's own calculations.
- Every value is kept with its source and its as-at date
- Sources that disagree are reconciled, and the disagreement is disclosed
- Where reliable evidence isn't available, the report says so
- 04
We analyse the property's DNA
Seven signals are assessed from the evidence, and together they inform the overall BuyDNA Score.
ValueDNA — Am I paying the right price?
GrowthDNA — How strong are the longer-term growth fundamentals?
RentDNA — How strong is the rental opportunity?
RiskDNA — What risks exist around this property and purchase?
LocationDNA — How strong is the location?
LivingDNA — How well does this work as a home?
DealDNA — How strong is the buying and negotiating position?
RiskDNA reads in the same direction as the others: a higher score means fewer identified risk concerns based on the available evidence.

Explore the evidence
Below the answer, you can go as deep as the data allows: valuation, comparable sales, market, rental, property, risks, planning, zoning, transport, schools, infrastructure, demographics and history — each shown with its source, and each marked unavailable where nothing reliable was returned.
Real data, or we say so
BuyDNA may use licensed property and market datasets, comparable-sale evidence, Australian government and open datasets, the listing information you provide, and BuyDNA's own calculations and analytical models. Data availability varies by property, location and source. Some planning, hazard and government datasets are currently connected for certain states only — where a dataset isn't available for a location, the report says so rather than inferring a result.
Source data
Sale records, property characteristics, market metrics, rental evidence, zoning and planning information, and the listing itself. Shown with its source and date.
